Zara Mahmood joined Company Counsel as Counsel in 2025.

 

Zara serves as a corporate generalist working with a wide range of technology and consumer-based clients. She advises emerging companies, entrepreneurial individuals, startups, and investors at every stage of the corporate life cycle, with a focus on entity formations, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate counseling.

In her practice, Zara counsels companies on a variety of corporate matters, including seed, venture and growth equity financings, and ongoing compliance. Serving as Counsel, Zara provides practical guidance and strategic advice to management teams and boards, helping clients navigate day-to-day governance matters. In addition, she regularly reviews and drafts commercial contracts, including service provider and vendor agreements, to support her clients’ operational and strategic needs.

Prior to joining Company Counsel in September 2025, Zara was an associate in the business law department of a major law firm in Boston and a member of its technology and life sciences group. She represented public and private acquirers, investors, and companies in corporate finance transactions.

​

Zara received a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Zara is admitted to the Massachusetts bar.
